Public Art Project

Our Neighborhood Sheriff's Station

Sculpture by Richard A. Myer

The fifth San Dimas Festival of Arts Public Art Project surrounds the flag pole at the entrance to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Station in San Dimas, California.

It depicts two Deputy Sheriffs and two children honoring the flag of the United States on the San Dimas Sheriff's Station flagpole.

The unveiling took place at the dedication ceremonies for the new Sheriff's Station in 2006.

About the Artist, Richard A. Myer -

From the earliest years, award-winner sculptor, Richard Myer, can remember having an insatiable desire to create three-dimensional objects with his hands.  He earned a degree in fine art from Brigham Young University, then returned to his native New York City and took advanced studies at the Art Students League and the Sculpture Center.  He worked as an assistant art director until moving to California in 1970, where he began his professional sculpting career.  Richard has earned numerous awards for his outstanding Western bronzes.  His concentrated study and research have added strength to the authenticity of his work.  Richard resides in Glendora, California.
